During my many years working therapeutically with families and individuals of all ages, I have developed and honed an approach which is evidence based and values led.
I see each person in terms of how they came into the world, what has happened to them during their lives and how they wish to heal and grow. My goal is to collaborate with each individual in becoming the person they really are so they can thrive within and as part of their community.
With that in mind, I use an integrative approach that I adapt to the specific needs of each unique individual.
This approach can encompass emotional support, skills teaching and or deep investigation of past experience and exploration of the self as needed or preferred by each client.
In formal therapy language I draw on person centred therapy, attachment theory, mindfulness and self-compassion therapy, existential therapy, C.B.T. and neurodevelopmental support strategies. My work is informed by an understanding of trauma, in particular the impact of painful early life experiences.
My style is informal, warm and friendly and is informed by personal and professional experience.
