Every child has a unique blend of strengths and needs. Those who are neurodivergent may need additional support and skilled teaching from a very young age in order to become at ease with themselves and with others.
The expectations of society may clash with individual needs resulting in emotional distress, harmful behaviour and missed opportunities for learning and belonging.
Over forty years of working with individuals and families I have developed a deep and respectful shared understanding with children and young people who have additional or different needs.
My approach is based on the values of shared respect and mutual change. A client won’t learn with me if I don’t learn from them.
My role is to develop a home programme that supports self-expression without reliance on harmful or challenging behaviour. I use activities of daily living, creative work and play to teach a range of social, cognitive, motor and behavioural skills. I can incorporate the recommendations of other professionals involved with your child within a tailored home programme.
There is a strong focus on parent coaching so you can maintain the programme we develop together.
Intervention may take place through zoom, home visits or a blend of both.
